Leonardo Da Vinci and the Potential of the Human Brain

Author: Andrew Zirkin

Leonardo Da Vinci was a master in so many areas besides just art. He would often draw in his sketchbooks as a record/study and also as if almost to give us snapshots from his mind.

He studied movements of animals especially birds, as he used their motion in his studies and understanding of aerodynamics.

Almost like how the martial artists would create a style around the movement's and even encompass the personality of animals and insects.

Leonardo Da Vinci would use his brilliant mind and ability to scribe in drawings and text these intricate details.

For example from his studies of the movements of birds he was able to devise and draw helicopters before the light bulb was invented.

When thinking of the divisions of the brain, there are two halves and two realms of awarness or Consciousness, the Unconscious and Sub Conscious mind. Usually the average person is good with one side of their brains, either the technical or creative and they have little ability with the understanding or use of the Unconscious mind.

Da Vinci would combine the creative side of his brain with the technical side to create as well as the ability to be open to his whole mind helped him to create ideas thousands of years ahead of there time.

You can see his influence in the studies and life works of Einstein, Freud, Dali, Michelangelo and even the Wright brothers, and most artists on this planet. His drawing of the perfect man has been sent to outer space in case intelligent life finds this then this will be their guide their map for understanding man.

Is that not just crazy 500 years later his drawings are still considered to be the best and most important the truest standard for man.

When I think of the advances of amazing cultures like the Greeks Romans, Aztecs cultures have brought to the world. No one man, before or after has created the kinds of advances to be almost equivalent to a great culture.

Think what his anatomical studies have done to advance medicine. He did this at a time when his studies of cadavers was a sacrilege. If caught one would be considered a heretic and be killed.

Still he took the risks and saw no limitations with his focus on the rewards and advances he saw in his visions and created in the areas of Science, art and life on this planet as we know it.

His ability to most fully use his mind created a greatness of knowledge and inspiration for innovation he is truly a Renaissance master.
